Neith is a 1907 Herreshoff Racing Cutter.
I had the pleasure of sailing and crewing aboard Grace Bailey in 2019, where we hosted the captain, crew, and friends of Neith. Neith was racing in the Castine Classic Yacht Race to Camden. I drew this picture based on their old ensign, which I then developed into a fully realized and vector based illustration for use as their new ensign and on shirts and other merch. Neith took third place among the classic classes!
Neith, named after the Egyptian Goddess of the Hunt, was intended as a gentleman’s weekender for N.G. Herreshoff’s personal doctor.
So, sometimes I am a licensed boat captain or crew, but I still make art.
